70's/80's/90's Glass & 21st C (helpid) & Discussions

This section includes late 20th Century Glass to-date. That would include 70's/80's/90's glassware and 21st Century glassware. This period marks the end of most American manufactured glass and the beginning of most imported glassware. If you don't know exactly how to distinguish your piece's age, post it under Age Unknown. This is just a guide to categorize the discussions and questions for our helpers. If you post your pic or question incorrectly, it's not a big deal.

Carnival Glass

Carnival glass is moulded or pressed glass with a shiny, metallic, iridescent surface that shimmers. Other names it's been called are aurora glass, dope glass, rainbow glass, taffeta glass, and disparagingly as "poor man's Tiffany". Given as prizes at carnivals, fetes & fairgrounds but the majority has been sold outright to stores for resale.
